A shocking debut from 2021, Coco Sanchez, a black female foreigner with roots from X... Or is it? Netizens have been raging on the forums about the shocking similarities between 'Coco' and world renowned female Tennis player, Naomi Osaka. For those who don't know, Naomi Osaka is most notable for her wins in the 2018 U.S. Open, and 2019 Australian Open.
So I decided to try and scrutinize from every possible angle. Surely, if it was Osaka, the big media would have found out and outed her. Likewise, either the AV industry (SOD in particular) would scream it out to the world, or say nothing at all. On "Coco's" bio page, it says she has an interest in Tennis.

I looked at the pictures, did my own unprofessional voice analysis, and tried to discern any possible differences to suggest that they were two different people. While I will agree the two look strikingly similar, in my opinion, the noses are slightly different, with 'Coco' having a slightly more protrusive and defined nose. The eyebrows are also different, but that could be attributed to makeup. Finally the voice...
There are two methods I used. Trying to figure out how fluent and 'native' both sounded in both English and Japanese, as well as the pitch of the voice. The pitch can be faked using a falsetto quite easily, but it's much harder to fake a low voice all the time.
As you can tell from the previews, Coco has a very deep voice, very 'white-washed' accent. Osaka on the other hand, has a much higher pitched voice. What about the Japanese? Based on the small clips of Osaka's Japanese (she stated in interviews that she didn't want to speak due to various reasons), I can't tell much of a difference, but there's almost nothing to go off of.
Could SOD have just used a voice mod on the entire video for Coco? Possibly.
Regardless, if people can believe the two are one in the same, it makes for a fantasy where your favorite sports star starts a porn career... Right?
Like much of KUSE's other videos, I found it to be quite dry, and especially as a debut, it was filled with interviews. The video starts with a Japanese narrator explaining how more foreigners are living in Japan, and want to do the natural thing. Have sex on camera. After a street interview, Coco is then taken to have another interview inside, followed by sex, and more interviews, and more sex. You get the point.
Overall, the production quality was good, in the sense that the camera angles were nice, the lighting was good, and nothing went horribly wrong. But, nothing ever went extremely well either. Neither in the action, nor in the interview (I found Coco's mannerisms to make the interview a bit too long and a bit too boring... you'll know what I mean if you watch it).
That being said, this marks a defining point for SOD which now has the most diverse lineup in the industry. This starts to beg the question, do people come to watch JAV for the plot , or the Japanese/Asian girls?
Personally, I didn't enjoy Coco, but I won't deny that she does look nice. As for her legacy? Tough to say, especially considering there's always the possibility for her to leave after a few releases... If she does stay, she'll most likely need to make her mark by going through the freelance method.
